Celebrate Father's Day with a Cruise on Biscayne Bay

Celebrate Father’s Day on an afternoon Bay Cruise departing from the Deering Estate at Cutler on Sunday, June 17^th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Guests are asked to arrive at 1:30 pm.

Discover South Florida’s nature and history aboard the “Pelican Island Skipper” Pontoon Boat, a 45 foot Corinthian Catamaran. A Deering Estate Education and Interpretive staff member will talk about birds, sea mammals, Native Americans, and early pioneers. The boat will pass Chicken Key, a seven-acre mangrove island and restored bird rookery. The cost is $35 per person.

The vessel complies with Coast Guard Regulations and is ADA accessible. Weather and water conditions are closely monitored prior to departure. Trips may be cancelled and rescheduled due to weather and water conditions.

Cave Exploring

Explore underground caverns in the Withlacoochee State Forest where stalactites, stalagmites and other geological treasures are found. Look out for bats as you crawl through twisting caverns. Wear comfortable shoes, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt that you won’t mind getting dirty. Program involves walking and crawling. Bring a hat, flashlight, lunch and plenty of water. All participants meet near the caves north of Brooksville. Directions will be provided with your confirmation letter. The trip is designed for adults with children age 8 or older. Preregistration is required.

Program fee: $67 per parent-child team; $33 per additional family member

In a couple of weeks, after completing its latest treetop adventure course at the Tallahassee Museum, Treetop Adventure Concept will move its construction team to the City of Daytona Beach to set up a challenging course in Tuscawilla Park. Course visitors will be able to explore nature from high in the trees having fun moving safely through a number of thrilling games from tree to tree and challenging themselves through tightropes, crab walks, jungle bridges, nets,.... and best of all, zip lines.
