Fairchild Scientists Give a Familiar Caribbean Palm a New Name Scientists at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden used DNA to resolve a case of mistaken identity and place a well-known Caribbean palm into a new genus. They established the new genus Leucothrinax with a single species, Leucothrinax morrisii.
