Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Welcomes Jeannie Perales,

Director of Education

(Sarasota, FL, September 8, 2010):  Marie Selby Botanical Gardens announces the appointment of Jeannie Perales as Director of Education. Perales comes to the Gardens from the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, where she has served as Assistant Curator of Education for four years. Jeannie earned a MA in Educational Psychology and a Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado in Denver.  After spending four years working in the Education Department of the Denver Art Museum, Jeannie began her work in crafting visitors’ experience and interpretation.

Perales will be responsible for connecting the first time visitor experience with our continuing education programs. She will also be part of the team developing education programs for the Children’s Rainforest.
