Surrounded by moss-draped live oaks and ornamental gardens, the Wesley Mansion inspires visions of hoop skirts and landed gentry. Lois Maxon bought and refurbished the house in 1953, decorating it with Louis XIV furniture, the second-largest collection in the United States.
