The 2012 Florida Legislative Session begins today. The Florida Attractions Association will be engaged with our Members and our coalition partners to advance our legislative priorities and assist our elected officials by providing information for their deliberations.
Advocating on behalf of our Florida Attraction industry is a key component of the purpose of the Florida Attractions Association. To be successful, the cumulative efforts of our Members, staff, and collation partners must be leveraged.
Here’s how you can help...
Know who your elected State Senator and State Representative are for both your business and where you live (you may live and work in difference districts).
If you have questions about proposed legislation, please call us. We may be able to research a legislator’s intent.
If you are aware of legislation that may be problematic for our industry, call the FAA.
If you are passionate about any of the FAA’s Priority Issues, please allow the FAA to use you as an industry spokesperson with news media outlets.
Watch for two types of e-blasts from the FAA – Legislative Updates with general Session information and Legislative Alerts! which are issued when your immediate action to contact your elected representatives is requested.
Our 2012 Session website has many resources for you to use. It is updated periodically during Session.
Thank you for being an advocate for yourself, your family, your business, and your industry. Encourage your colleagues and employees in the tourism industry to step up and speak out and be an integral part of helping protect Florida’s vibrant Attraction industry.
Sincerely,
Bill Lupfer
President
PS – Don’t forget to register for Florida Tourism Day, Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
